Program Details Ages: 6–12 years Day: Thursdays Time: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM Class Duration: 90 minutes Program Length: 8 weeks (8 classes) Group Size: Maximum 8 children in the first group Materials: Basic art supplies included Location: Art Haven Café, 359 Main Street East, Milton, Ontario What Will Children Learn? Week 1: Drawing Fundamentals Learn about lines, geometric shapes, proportions, and basic drawing techniques. Discover how to turn simple shapes into recognizable drawings. Week 2: Light, Shadow & Shading Explore shading techniques, light and shadow, depth, and how to create three-dimensional effects using pencil. Week 3: Still Life Drawing Learn how to observe and draw everyday objects, focusing on shapes, proportions, composition, and details. Week 4: Landscape Drawing Explore how to draw natural scenery, including trees, mountains, skies, and other elements of landscapes. Learn about perspective, depth, and composition. Week 5: Animal Drawing Learn how to observe and draw different animals by studying their shapes, proportions, features, and details. Week 6: Color Theory & Color Mixing Discover primary and secondary colors, warm and cool colors, color mixing, and how to create balanced and effective color combinations. Week 7: Acrylic Painting Techniques Learn basic acrylic painting techniques, brush control, color application, layering, and how to create an original acrylic painting. Week 8: Final Art Project & Mini Exhibition Each child creates a final artwork using the skills and techniques learned throughout the program.
